Regular proficiency training is essential to the safety of all pilots and their passengers. The objective of the Pilot Proficiency Award Program is to provide pilots with the opportunity to establish and participate in a personal recurrent training program. Skys supports and encourages our members to take part in the WINGS program. Recurrent training is the key to proficiency. Also, a pilot need not accomplish the flight review requirements of 14 CFR 61.56 if, since the beginning of the 24th calendar month before the month in which that pilot acts as pilot in command, he or she has satisfactorily completed one or more phases of this program. Haven't flown instruments in a while? 14 CFR 61.57 requires an IPC for you to get back in to the clouds. Skys instructors can take care of the Instrument Proficiency Check and get you back in to the IFR system with confidence. The Instrument Proficiency Check is structured in a manner similar to the flight review but the content is dictated by the Practical Test Standards. Click the link for the current Instrument PTS. |
Needed for all pilots, the Flight Review is a MINIMUM of 1 hour flight and 1 hour ground instruction covering the mandatory topics as outlined in 14 CFR 61.56. Skys offers Biennial Flight Reviews our airplanes or we can do it in yours. We like to "kill two birds with one stone" when it comes to the complex endorsement and multi-engine rating. At Skys, we use the Beech Travelair to do just that. The complex endorsement allows the pilot to operate an aircraft with retractable gear and constant speed propeller as pilot in command. A must for those interested flying more technologically advanced aircraft. |
